La Comida Updates

Chinese Translation

To our dining community:

8/4/2021: Unfortunately due to the spread of the Delta Variant, we decided to put our indoor dining on hold for now. We continue to serve take-out meals at both of our locations and hope to return to indoor dining again soon.

7/15/2021: We have opened for indoor dining at Stevenson House on July 12th!!! We are still open for take-out in Downtown Palo Alto and at Stevenson.

All patrons interested in dining-in must bring their vaccination cards to us during the regular lunch service hours to prove their vaccination status. After that, they may dine indoors anytime. As a safety precaution, all patrons are required to be fully vaccinated in order to eat in the dining room. Look forward to eating with you inside!!!

5/26/2021: La Comida’s Downtown Palo Alto location is changing!!! On June 1, 2021, we will no longer be at the Masonic location. We will be outdoors at:

First United Methodist Church
(Just a few blocks away in their courtyard!)
625 Hamilton Ave @ Webster
Palo Alto, CA

We are continuing to serve take-out meals at Stevenson House and will now serve take-out meals at the First United Methodist Church during the same hours. Please come visit us at our new Downtown location! Signs will direct you to the location on Hamilton.

Watch this space for our return to congregant dining!!! We look forward to serving our seniors soon in person with our tasty nutritious meals as well as the other things you have come to know and love about La Comida such as our live entertainment and opportunities to make friends and socialize with other diners. La Comida is where friends and food meet.

1/7/2021: La Comida resumed normal operations on Monday January 4, 2021. We continue to serve take-out meals at both locations. We are working closely with the Public Health Department and we are following all protocol and prevention recommendations regarding Coronavirus. Hope to see you soon for one of our delicious lunches!!!

La Comida COVID-19 protocols:

La Comida is serving take-out meals at both our Stevenson House and Downtown Methodist Church locations. With the growing public health concern about the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), we want to assure you that our main concern is for the health and safety of our members, participants, staff, and their families. We are working closely with the Public Health Department and monitoring CDC guidelines to ensure we are following all protocol and prevention recommendations regarding Coronavirus.

Those recommendations are:

Here at La Comida, we are:

  • Just like La Comida staff, we encourage our senior diners and volunteers to get vaccinated if they haven’t already.
  • Increasing our frequency and deepening our efforts in cleaning and disinfecting all surfaces.
  • Ensuring anti-bacterial agents are available for member use when registering.
  • Elevating staff awareness and establishing clear guidelines so that staff can help members stay healthy.
Volunteers and staff will wash hands every 20 minutes during the lunch serving period.
  • Asking volunteers and staff not to come to La Comida if they feel cold or flu symptoms.
  • La Comida is providing take-out meals only.

Please help us by:

  • Staying home if you or a family member are sick or feel cold or flu symptoms. Someone else can pick up your take-out meal for you.
  • Washing and sanitizing your hands before and after entering La Comida.
  • Covering your cough or sneeze with a tissue or your elbow, and disposing of tissues immediately.
  • If you travel to one of the most impacted countries (currently China, South Korea, Italy and Iran), please do not come to La Comida until at least 14 days following your return. We will provide someone you send with your take-out meal if requested.
